How To Build Trust And Authority

What is trust?

Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

Look at your personal life.  How many people do you trust?  Who do you rely on to be honest and truthful to you?

On average, if you really examine your life, you will find that no more than 5 to 10 people in your life.

That’s not a lot and if you really look at things, there is a subset of that amount that you really trust.

These can be your parents, siblings, and probably one or two close friend.  Trust does not come easily and people have to show that they have a sincere concern about you.

This is usually show in their actions in time of crises and their concerns in time of needs.

I know within my heart, there are certain people I can go to and ask for help and know that they will have no problem assisting.

I don’t take trust likely and neither should you.

What is Authority?

Now let’s look at authority.  Authority is the power inherent in a particular job, function, or position that is meant to enable its holder to successfully carry out an action.

In your life who has the authority to ask you to do something and you will do it with no questions asked.

There are certain people in our lives that have authority over us.

For example, your boss.  If your boss gives you an assignment and tell you when it is due, you will work on it unto to completion. Why?  Because you know the outcome if you don’t.

This type of authority is not what I am talking about.  I am talking about someone in your life that officially don’t has authority over you but because of what they represent you have no problem doing.

This is what building trust and authority in your home business is all about.

You want to be in the position that people trust you so much that they allow you to have authority over them in making recommendations to improve their business.

Now the question is, have you build the trust and authority that others are willing to stop and listen.

The answer for most of us is probably No.
